What information do I need to bring when I register?
Once my CV is submitted to a vacancy, how long can I expect to wait before I hear an outcome?
This varies greatly between companies as the recruitment processes are different, and deadlines may be in place. However, we promise to contact all our candidates to let them know the outcome as soon as we are able.
How long can I expect to wait before I find temporary work?
This can be very quick and you should be prepared to start work the next day providing you are available. On occasions it can take up to a week or so to find you the right temporary role, depending upon the time of year, market factors and your skill set contributing to a short delay.
Do I get paid holiday pay when I am temping?
Yes you will accrue holiday pay immediately you start temping. Details of the procedures for booking holiday will be discussed as part of the registration process.
What recruitment do you specialise in?
We specialise in office support staff including administration and secretarial. We also recruit for HR specialists, marketing specialists and we have a Legal Division recruiting for Legal Secretarial and Paralegal.
I do not yet have a National Insurance Number. Do I need one to start working?
No you don’t need one to start working and you will not be able to get one until you are employed. Once you have a job we can issue you with a letter which will assist the process in securing your National Insurance Number.

As a candidate looking for permanent work you can expect to receive the following service from our trained consultants:
Being prepared for your interview is crucial and we would recommend the following:
Many jobseekers do not realise that the way their CV is presented is critical to their success in the selection process.
Most Recruiters will be dealing with many applications per vacancy and they are usually working to tight deadlines. They will not have the time to search through too many pages and will be looking for key words in your CV.
A good CV will help you get through the selection process.
The structure of your CV should include the following :-
Ideally your CV should not be more than two pages and your employment history should have the dates that you worked and your employer’s name followed by your job title and responsibilities under separate bullet points.
Make sure you account for any gaps in your employment history i.e. travelling or taking time out.
Most importantly, ensure that there are no spelling mistakes in your CV - get it checked!
Take time to read it and ensure it is a true reflection of your work history.
The Recruitment Consultancy operates a dedicated, loyal and hard-working Temporaries Division. We offer candidates work on a daily basis matching their personal and specific requirements to the needs of our clients. Professionals working in Recruitment and HR in Surrey and Sussex met to discuss the draft regulations on the Agency Workers Directive that were published by the Government last week prior to an 8 week consultation period. When implemented, the Agency Workers Directive (part of EU legislation) will entitle temporary workers to the same treatment as permanent staff following 12 weeks in a temporary assignment. This will have a huge impact upon the recruitment industry whose professionals will be in the frontline of its implementation.
The Recruitment Consultancy hosted the HR Seminar which took place on Friday October 23rd at The Holiday Inn, Guildford. Guest speakers were Kevin Green, Chief Executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and Tom Hadley, Director of External Relations for the REC.
The event was also attended by Anne Milton, MP who commented, “I would urge employers to respond to this consultation. It is vital that the Government knows the range of views on agency workers so decisions are taken with the knowledge of what impact this would have on the ground. We are all busy but please make sure your voice is heard!”
Sharon Ellis, a Director of The Recruitment Consultancy Ltd said, “Our involvement with the REC’s Agency Workers Commission and our knowledge of the industry means that we are well placed to advise both recruiters and employers on the likely impact of this legislation. Our purpose in holding this free seminar was to support our clients and to update them on the latest developments and the impact that these changes may have upon their businesses.
As we recover from the downturn it is even more important that employers are able to retain a flexible workforce to meet the peaks and troughs in their businesses; it is critical that the Agency Workers Directive does not affect that flexibility.
Talking to local employers it is clear that the implications and consequences of this proposed legislation are not immediately apparent to all. Employers need to be prepared early and to ensure that they receive the right support in effecting this new legislation by making certain that they are working with recruitment providers who are REC members. This will help them to comply with the legislation and help to reduce their risk of exposure to Employment Tribunals – a risk that most businesses cannot afford to take!”
This is a small selection of our current opportunities for permanent work and temporary assignments.
